Margo had laughed her head off when Eliot first asked her. He'd sighed and just let her get it out of her system, and then she'd apologized sincerely while she tried to catch her breath. And then was happy enough to agree, though she kept occasionally giggling.

"Margo, I am so serious, if you laugh at him I will never forgive you," Eliot said sternly as they made their way to King's Realm.

"I'm good, I'm good, I swear," Margo said. "You just caught me by surprise. I'm good, I'm good. There's alcohol there right?"

Eliot nodded as he pushed open the door to the cottage.

"Thank you," Aaron said dryly.

"I was just trying to help," Eliot muttered.

"I know, I know," Aaron said. "I shouldn't take it out on you. I just... I wish there was another way."

[eliot_thespectacular]

"I suppose you can hope she's a lesbian," Eliot said.

[quitollis]

"A what?" Aaron asked.

[eliot_thespectacular]

"A woman who prefers the company of other women," said Eliot. "Surely you didn't think men had the monopoly on this issue."

[quitollis]

"I know for a fact we don't," Aaron said with a little smile. "But I didn't know the word. Or I suppose I could turn her around, if it comes to that... keep the room dark."

"Yes well, as someone who fucked his wife three times last week while she was ovulating, I can confirm it can be done," Eliot said dryly.

[quitollis]

"But you don't mind, do you? You didn't mind with Margo," Aaron asked, not quite understanding.

[eliot_thespectacular]

"Mind is an interesting way of putting it," Eliot said. "Do I mind? No. But I'm not particularly interested in women. I do have a theater degree though."

To Aaron it just meant Eliot was less broken. "I tried... I suppose I'm a shit actor."

Eliot thought that the situation was even worse than he'd realized.

Before he could say anymore, Margo walked out, fully dressed again. Before either of them could speak (probably to apologize), Margo said, "Once you're married I want you to introduce me to your wife. I'll convince her of the virtues of a man on the side. You'll both be happier."

"So everyone keeps telling me," Aaron said, bitterly, but then stopped dwelling. "But thank you, of course, for your kind offer. Perhaps it will be for the best. And my apologies, once again, for spoiling things. You're a fine woman. Eliot is a lucky man to have you as a friend."

“It’s okay, you can owe me a favor,” Margo said agreeably. “And now… I am going to go get laid.” She wiggled her fingers in a wave and left them.

Aaron watched Margo leave. "When did you tell Fen?" He asked, realising he would have to tell Elize about his inabilities.

"I didn't," Eliot said with a shrug. "Not exactly. But she's not stupid."

[quitollis]

Aaron nodded. "Well... at least I know how shit I'll be at pretending. Maybe she'll realize it herself."

[eliot_thespectacular]

"Margo's right, you know," Eliot said. "You'll both be happier if she has someone on the side, too. And it's not like the situation with Fen, where..."

He ran a hand through his hair. "You know. High king blood or whatever. She doesn't want to risk getting pregnant by someone else."

[quitollis]

Aaronwas infinitely grateful he didn't have to deal with that sort of thing. "I suppose enough bastards have been sired in Kings..." Aaron said, smiling vaguely.

"I wish there was something else I could do," Eliot said quietly. "I mean, I'm just... sorry this is happening. For you."

[quitollis]

"You've done a lot," Aaron told him and took his hand, squeezing it lightly.

[eliot_thespectacular]

"Well, I tried," Eliot said with a snort.

[quitollis]

"Not this," Aaron said and smiled. "But I feel a lot better about what- about who I am. And the situation we're in sucks, but... I'm very glad I'm in it with you."

"So what you're saying is, I'm the most amazing man you've ever met, such that you realize you now what nothing but men," Eliot teased.

[quitollis]

"If that makes you feel better about today," Aaron teased in return. "I just mean you've taught me a different way to look at things; and I appreciate that."
