Margo had laughed her head off when Eliot first asked her. He'd sighed and just let her get it out of her system, and then she'd apologized sincerely while she tried to catch her breath. And then was happy enough to agree, though she kept occasionally giggling.
"Margo, I am so serious, if you laugh at him I will never forgive you," Eliot said sternly as they made their way to King's Realm.
"I'm good, I'm good, I swear," Margo said. "You just caught me by surprise. I'm good, I'm good. There's alcohol there right?"
Eliot nodded as he pushed open the door to the cottage.

"I'm going to make my wife miserable," Aaron said, realizing this only now. He'd never really considered it before; this was the way of things. Love and sex were always secondary to alliances and influence. And what women wanted was never truly a concern of his.
Now, though... he felt bad for her.
He turned to Margo. "I'm so sorry. It's just... not working." She was objectively beautiful and his cock was shrinking at the thought of her. But he was kind enough not to say that out loud.

Eliot felt like an ass.
"I was just trying to help."

"I know," Aaron said. He turned to Margo and picked up her blouse, offerinv it to her. "I truly am sorry. I thought it might help nudge something. Hoped." But he was hopeless. Women had never done it for him.

Margo slid her blouse back on and said nothing.

"Yes," Aaron said. "But this is a dear friend of yours. It should be...Good. Not a chore."

Eliot had a feeling that Aaron didn't even know what that was. "Well I'm certainly not going to force you," he said to Aaron.

Aaron sighed and pulled on his shirt. "I should go," he determined. This was too uncomfortable and he felt too much like a failure. He didn't wait for a response and went out the door.

“Aaron wait - “ Eliot jogged after him. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have suggested this.”

"It's not your fault. It shouldn't be this hard, right?" Aaron replied. "I thought I would at least be able to... touch her."

"Thank you," Aaron said dryly.

"I know, I know," Aaron said. "I shouldn't take it out on you. I just... I wish there was another way."

"A what?" Aaron asked.

"I know for a fact we don't," Aaron said with a little smile. "But I didn't know the word. Or I suppose I could turn her around, if it comes to that... keep the room dark."

"But you don't mind, do you? You didn't mind with Margo," Aaron asked, not quite understanding.

To Aaron it just meant Eliot was less broken. "I tried... I suppose I'm a shit actor."

Before he could say anymore, Margo walked out, fully dressed again. Before either of them could speak (probably to apologize), Margo said, "Once you're married I want you to introduce me to your wife. I'll convince her of the virtues of a man on the side. You'll both be happier."

"So everyone keeps telling me," Aaron said, bitterly, but then stopped dwelling. "But thank you, of course, for your kind offer. Perhaps it will be for the best. And my apologies, once again, for spoiling things. You're a fine woman. Eliot is a lucky man to have you as a friend."
